I honestly like to think that Star Wars is just the very far distinct future to Avatar. The people just improved their bending into what we know as the Force.

I tried to get into fallout NV, but it's just not happening. The scenery is repetitive and ugly in NV. Gun fights are kind of boring and all the quests are dismal and depressing. For me Skyrim is the much better experience.

I think another good comparison is the corruption and oversight of the monks of the air temples and the corrupt Jedi masters who mishandle Anikin, and both push the chosen one away.

Also don’t forget the season 2 finale was a lot like Empire Strikes Back, the hero stops in the middle of training to help his friends then ends up losing and almost dying him and friends escape and the empire/fire nation gain a huge upper hand in the war.

The thing with Attack on Titan is that it does have a very anti war and progressive message. The message is also very complex and nuanced so that means people without media literacy can use it to make bad points.

I first realized that the end of season 2 was nearly identical to TESB: Aang abandons his training to rescue his friends -- choosing attachment over enlightenment -- and is absolutely packed up for it, one of the good guys gets captured by the bad guys, and the rest escape after the main female character uses her special powers to rescue the hero. Then I realized that Aang refusing to kill the Fire Lord was a lot like Luke refusing to kill Vader, and thought I'd look for videos where anybody else points this stuff out.

In the final episode, the airships are destroyed in much the same way as the Super Star Destroyers.

During his apprenticeship with the old sage of an Air Temple, Aang senses danger for Katara, like Luke who felt danger for his friends during his apprenticeship with Yoda.

I think this is a prime example of how you can use the same story beats while changing things just enough to make something amazing. Both franchises are ones I grew up with and love to this day! There's a reason the heroes journey is such a tried and true format, and these two franchises go beyond that and end up making two properties that are distinct in terms of style and aesthetic while matching eachother plot wise. There are several things that Avatar added of course that Star Wars didnt have, like Azula or even Iroh. Things like that add another layer and in turn made Avatar distinct despite its similarities. There's a mentality in modern storytelling that everything has to be new, unique, and often esoteric, often valuing pushing boundries rather than telling a cohesive narrative. These both show that you can rely on the old favorites and change enough to make something completely new.

Star Wars themes have been recycled by many successful franchises, including Harry Potter!

Grand Theft Auto 5 felt rushed despite the 5-year gap between GTA 4 and GTA 5 and the 1-year gap between Rock Star's previous title Max Payne 3 and this game. That being said, unlike L.A. Noire, Grand Theft Auto 4, Max Payne trilogy, and the original Red Dead Redemption. This game was honestly garbage. I criticized Grand Theft Auto 4 for the lack of content it left out from previous titles, but even then, the missions, side quests, and side missions were still more enjoyable than this game. Let me explain. When you are so lazy, that you have to make the only choices in a game's mission structure in the heists, and the ending mission instead of throughout the entirety of the game shows the lack of commitment from freedom to player choice based on the player's experience in the story part of the game. When it is more difficult for you to decide on killing Playboy X or Dwayne knowing both of their weaknesses and backgrounds in GTA IV vs. knowing which ending to go with or which heist route to take in GTA V, it shows how lazy Rockstar has gotten in their storytelling. It says that this game wants you to take the easy ending without a payoff or downfall. There is no conflict in this story unlike GTA 4, or even other Rockstar Titles. Even Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) is lazy as Hell. It was actually worse, due to the fact, that Rockstar decided to make an open-world gameplay as a 9-part mini-series or TV Show. I love their stories apart from Grand Theft Auto V's story. I still like Red Dead 2's story despite its flaws contradicting the story John told Bonnie at the beginning of Red Dead Redemption 1. The downfall of Red Dead 2 though is laziness from the Grand Theft Auto 5's success and 3 playable character story though. If you are going to make an open-world game, don't make it like L.A. Noire with chapters or L.A. Noire's case, cases, and desks. It lacks conviction when progression feels rushed during a game.
